John 21:15-21 | Do You Love Me? | Don Romano

After the resurrection, Jesus meets Peter on the shore and asks him a simple but piercing question: “Do you love me?”
Peter had once boldly promised that he would lay down his life for Jesus. But when the moment came, Peter denied Him three times. Now, face-to-face with the risen Jesus, Peter has to reckon with the difference between the love he claimed to have and the love he had actually lived.
But Jesus doesn’t meet Peter’s failure with rejection. He restores him, gives him something to do—“Feed my sheep”—and calls him once again: “Follow me.”
In this message from John 21:15–19, we’ll see how Jesus meets us in our failures, restores what has been broken, and develops in us a deeper devotion than we could produce on our own.
The question isn’t simply whether we would die for Jesus someday.
Do we love Him enough to live for Him today?
